What to Expect
What to Wear & Bring
Gearing up for a game, lesson or tennis clinic is easy at the Keystone Tennis Club – bring tennis shoes and wear clothes you can move in. This low-key dress code is perfect for those on vacation who want to squeeze in a game or learn a new skill set.
What NOT to Bringing
Your tennis balls from home. At high altitudes (greater than 4,000 ft) tennis players need to switch to high altitude tennis balls. The reason for this is that normal tennis balls will increase in pressure when brought up to the mountains and become too bouncy for proper play. The Keystone Tennis Club sells high altitude tennis balls at their gear store but you can find them at any sporting good store 4,000 feet above sea level that sells tennis equipment. The packaging will say High Altitude on it.
Move Your Game Outside
If you haven’t experience high country summers you are in for a treat! Summers in Keystone are commonly in the 70’s with almost no humidity or bugs! At 9,280 feet above sea level, Keystone is closer to the sun than most places so it is important to stay sun safe. Those playing outdoors during the summer should plan to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a visor or hat and their reusable water bottle.
Meet Your Match
The Keystone Tennis Club offers Player Match Ups for anyone looking for someone to play with. This is a great way to meet new people and is a great opportunity for those on vacation to enjoy a game of tennis with a local player.
