What you need to know
WHERE TO GO:
All children need to have their ski/snowboard equipment prior to heading to the lesson drop-off area. If you need rentals for your child check in at the River Run Kids Rental Office located in the River Run Village in the Silver Mill Building F3. Lesson drop-off areas are:
- River Run: If your child already has their equipment proceed directly to the Left side of the River Run Gondola and check in under the Blue tent.
- Mountain House: In front of Mountain House Kids Ski and Ride School in Mountain House village near the base of the Discovery Lift.
WHEN TO ARRIVE:
- If you or your child are picking up rental equipment, we recommend you pick up your rental equipment the day prior or plan on arriving 60 minutes early on the day of your lesson.
PICKING UP YOUR CHILD:
Your child's instructor will share specific location and pick-up time details when you arrive as the following are subject to change:
- Half day AM lessons: 11:45am pick-up
- Half day PM lessons: 3pm pick-up
- Full day lessons: 3pm pick-up
What to Expect
- All group child lessons will be sorted by age. The instructor will determine a plan for the day based on individual needs or group goals.
- Full day lessons will include a break for lunch (included in your lesson purchase), lunch times and locations may vary on age and start location.
- The instructor will provide a summary of their lesson and your child’s progress at pick-up.
- Groups will take breaks as appropriate based on conditions and energy levels.
- Please ensure that your child has access to the restroom prior to the lesson start time as check in duration and access to restrooms can vary based on location and time of year.
- Lockers are available, first come first serve and are located:
- In River Run in the Mountain Service Center directly across from the Gondola.
- In Mountain House in the Mountain House Day lodge.

- River Run: All adult lessons will check in in the plaza in front of the Buffalo Lodge.
- Mountain House: All adult lessons will check in at the Ski and Ride School sales office adjacent to Keystone Sports in Mountain House Village.

- Mountain House: All private lessons meet in front of the Mountain House Ski and Ride School sales offices.

- Arrive at your lesson’s location 30 minutes prior to allow time for check-in and meeting your world-class instructor.
- If you or your child are picking up rental equipment we recommend you pick up your rental equipment the day prior or plan on arriving 60 minutes early on the day of your lesson.
- If you are running late for a Private Lesson, don't worry! Your instructor is yours for the duration of the time you have booked. If you anticipate being more than 30 minutes late please call +1-970-496-4170 to speak to a Ski and Snowboard School representative.
What to Expect
- Ensure to share your goals and motivations with your private lesson instructor so they can work with you to craft the experience you looking for.
- Full day Private lessons will include a break for lunch. Lunch is not provided and locations may vary based on start location and ability level of group. Work with your instructor to find the best options for you and or your group.
- Lockers are available, first come first serve and are located:
- River Run: In the Mountain Service Center directly across from the Gondola.
- Mountain House: In the Mountain House Day lodge.
What You Need
Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, so review the following items to ensure you are fully equipped for your ski or snowboard lesson.
All guests must have a pass or a lift ticket to participate in a lesson. Best pricing is available online, in advance.
A winter sport helmet is required for all lesson participants aged 14 and under, and 18 and under in designated children’s lessons. We strongly encourage helmet use for all ages. Helmets can be included along with a rental order or rented separately.
