Mountaintop Snow Tubing

 

Participant Requirements:

  • 42” tall (3.5 feet)
  • Everyone must ride their own tube—no lap children
  • 350 lb weigh limit
  • No extensive injuries (ie: broken legs, back or neck injuries)
  • Ability to walk & stand on magic carpet lift (similar to a moving sidewalk, on an incline)
  • No pregnant women, due to safety concerns

Check-In Information: 

  • Time: 45 minutes prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 11:15 a.m. for a Noon reservation)
  • Where: Adventure Point Tubing Hut, located in River Run Village, at the base of the gondola, next to the Ticket Window

*After checking in at the base of the gondola, you’ll proceed up the mountain (a foot passenger ticket is included as part of your tour). At the summit, proceed left off the gondola to the Adventure Point yurt, behind the Kidtopia Snow Fort. 

What to Wear & Bring (Regular mountain gear/clothes):

  • Waterproof outer layers (pants and jacket)
  • Waterproof boots/shoes (ski boots are NOT recommended and participants with ski boots will NOT be allowed to “link up” tubes)
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens
  • Goggles/Sunglasses
  • HELMETS are NOT available at Adventure Point—if you’d like a helmet, please be sure to bring with you (helmets are available for rent at all Keystone Sports locations)

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 24 hours or more in advance are eligible for a refund. Within 24 hours cancellations are nonrefundable. No shows will be charged 100%.

Things to Know: Free parking for River Run Village is available in the Gondola Lot, or, after 2 p.m. in the Hunki Dori or Gold Bug lots.

Mountaintop Family Adventure Tours

 

Participant Requirements: Must be able to climb a 4-step ladder

Check-In Information:

  • Time: 45 minutes prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 11:15 a.m. for a Noon tour)
  • Where: Adventure Point Tubing Hut, located in River Run Village, at the base of the gondola, next to the Ticket Window

*After checking in at the base of the gondola, you’ll proceed up the mountain (a foot passenger ticket is included as part of your tour). At the summit, proceed to the Summit House. Once inside, take an immediate left, go up the small set of stairs and meet in front of the stone fireplace. Please be at the fireplace no later than :15 prior to your tour (ex: 11:45 for a Noon tour)

What to Wear & Bring:

  • Waterproof outer layers (pants and jacket)
  • Waterproof footwear—there is a small amount of on-snow walking. Ski boots are NOT recommended
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens
  • Goggles/Sunglasses
  • Phone/Camera

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 24 hours or more in advance are eligible for a refund. Within 24 hours cancellations are nonrefundable. No shows will be charged 100%.

Things to Know:

  • The mountaintop tour lasts approximately 60 minutes, plus travel/check-in time (approx. 2 hours total)
  • A minimum of 4 guests must be registered or the tour will be cancelled
  • Free parking for River Run Village is available in the Gondola Lot, or, after 2 p.m. in the Hunki Dori or Gold Bug lots

Dinner & Scenic Sleigh Rides

 

Check-In Information: 

  • Time: 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ride (ex: 5:30 a.m. for a 6 p.m. ride)
  • Where: Adventure Center, Lakeside Village: located a short walk from the Keystone Lodge & Spa

*After checking in at the Adventure Center, you’ll load a bus for a short ride to the sleigh ride location

What to Wear & Bring:

  • Warm jacket (waterproof is recommended) –blankets are provided on the sleigh and the cabin is heated
  • Warm/Waterproof footwear—there is a small amount of on-snow walking. 
  • Gloves/Mittens
  • Hat

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 24 hours or more in advance are eligible for a refund. Within 24 hours cancellations are nonrefundable. No shows will be charged 100%.

Things to Know:

  • A minimum of 16 guests must be registered or the ride will be cancelled
  • Free parking for Lakeside Village is available in the Keystone Lodge & Spa/Conference Lot

Guided Cat Skiing Tours

 

Participant Requirements:

  • Advanced skiing/snowboarding skills
  • Skiing/snowboard equipment
  • Must be able to climb a 4-step ladder

Check-In Information: 

  • Time: 7:45 a.m.
  • Where: Mountain House Base Area, inside the Mountain House day lodge, next to Go Big Burger

What to Wear & Bring (Regular mountain gear/clothes):

  • Waterproof outer layers (pants and jacket)
  • Layers (including non-cotton base layers)
  • Head protection (helmets strongly recommended)
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens
  • Goggles/Sunglasses
  • Backpack/Camelback with water bottle, snacks, extra layers
  • Sunscreen

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 72 hours or more in advance are eligible for a refund. Within 72 hours cancellations are nonrefundable. No shows will be charged 100%.

Things to Know:

  • A minimum of 4 guests must be registered or the tour will be cancelled
  • This tour includes your lift ticket and lunch

Snow Biking

 

Participant Requirements: Must have ski or snowboard boots

Check-In Information

For those needing a lift ticket:

  • Time: 1 hour prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 11 a.m. for a Noon tour)
  • Where: Adventure Point Tubing Hut, located in River Run Village, at the base of the gondola, next to the Ticket Window

For those with a lift ticket/already on-mountain:

  • Time: 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 11:30 a.m. for a Noon tour) for those riding the lift, please allow :15 for the lift ride to the mountaintop
  • Where: At the mountain summit, proceed left to the Adventure Point yurt, behind the Kidtopia Snow Fort.

  • Ski or snowboard boots
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens
  • Goggles/Sunglasses
  • Head protection (helmets strongly recommended)

Snowmobile Tours

 

Participant Requirements:

  • Helmet: White Mountain Tours has full-face helmets available on-site

Check-In Information

Transportation from Keystone to White Mountain Tours base camp is included in your tour:

  • Time: 1 hour & 15 minutes (75 minutes) prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 10:45 a.m. for a Noon tour)
  • Where: Activities & Dining Office, Buffalo Plaza, River Run Village, Keystone

For those choosing to drive to White Mountain Tours base camp (directions below). Please allow at least 45 minutes for travel time and arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour

  • Time: ARRIVE 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour (ex: 11:30 a.m. for a Noon tour)
  • Where: White Mountain Tours, 6492 CO-91, Leadville, CO 80461

What to Wear & Bring:

*White Mountain does have snowsuits, helmets and snow boots available. Helmets are the only required equipment

  • Waterproof outer layers (pants and jacket)
  • Waterproof boots
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens
  • Goggles/Sunglasses

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 48 hours or more in advance are eligible for a refund. Within 48 hours cancellations are nonrefundable. No shows will be charged 100%.

Things to Know: White Mountain does have snowsuits, helmets and snow boots available. Helmets are the only required equipment.

If driving yourself, directions to White Mountain Tours base camp:

  1. From Keystone Take Hwy 6 West to Interstate 70W, about 6 miles
  2. Take I70 West to Exit 195, Copper Mountain/Leadville
  3. Go over the Highway and the road you are on will turn into Highway 91
  4. Take Highway 91 for approximately 14 miles
  5. You will see the Climax Molybdenum Mine at the top of Fremont Pass after 10 miles
  6. Continue on Hwy 91 over the pass until Mile Marker 7
  7. You will then see White Mountain’s large red and white sign on the left, depicting a snowmobile and stating “SNOWMOBILE BASE CAMP”.
  8. Please approach slowly and make a cautious left-hand turn into White Mountain’s driveway.
