Just Getting Started: Why Keystone is the Best Ski Resort for Beginners

We understand that every person on the mountain has had a first time experience at some point in their life and we believe that it’s that experience that defines your relationship with the mountain for years to come.

And just because this is your first time at Keystone doesn't mean you're a beginner...but if you are then follow this guide to find exactly what it will take to have an epic experience your first time at Keystone.

Keystone Ski and Snowboard School

First things first: you’ve got to get pointers from the best when you’re first learning how to ride and our instructors know just how to teach you the right moves from day one. Plus, with our EpicMix Academy, you can track your progress throughout the day and the season.

As we say, better skills mean bigger thrills!

The Schoolyard

The perfect place for the whole family to get comfortable with their new skills and gear! Specifically designed to give kids (and beginners of all ages) the space they need to practice what they learned at school, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere to really hone your turns.

Adventure Point

Take a little break from learning and have some different kinds of snow fun at Adventure Point. Our epic snow fort is perfect for exploring and the tubing hill gets you off your feet, while still experiencing the thrill of flying down the mountainside.

Night Skiing

Night Skiing

After you’ve got a few runs under your belt, you might want to try something completely different. Night skiing at Keystone is an experience like no other and there are plenty of trails for beginners to try this one of a kind experience.

Burton Riglet Park at A51

Are you feeling a little adventurous after a few lessons? Then head over to our nationally recognized terrain park to try your skills out in our beginner area. It’s a great place to get comfortable with some new and challenging moves that go beyond the classic downhill experience.

Beginners come in all ages, from six to 60, and we want to make sure that your first time on the mountain is one that leaves you wanting more. At Keystone Resort, we want you to leave as in love with mountain sports as we are.
