With more than 17 kilometers of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing and access to 40 kilometers of nearby backcountry trails throughout the White River National Forest, the Keystone Nordic Center is a haven for outdoor recreation. Choose from classic, skate skis, or snowshoes for your next adventure.
New to the sport? The Nordic Center offers lessons and guided snowshoe tours throughout the winter season.

Explore Keystone's trails on your own, or join one of our guided excursions today. The Nature Snowshoe Tour is great way to get introduced to a safe and fun snow sport and leave the hustle and bustle behind. If you’re looking for a challenge, the Mountain Top Tour starts at the top of the gondola and continues higher where the views are expansive and the air thin.
Snow Tubing
Our family tubing hill, perfect for “kids” of all ages, is located just a short walk from the Nordic Center and offers tubing the old-fashioned way. Just slide down and walk back up the hill. Reservations required. To make a reservation, please call 970-496-4275. Free parking right at the Center. Tubes are rented:$25 per tube.
Tubing tickets include tube rental. No personal sleds or tubes are allowed on the hill. This classic winter activity is perfect for families, especially those with young children too small for Keystone's mountaintop tubing hill.

Beginner Group Lesson (90 Minutes)
This is an introduction to beginner cross-country skiing techniques. You'll learn and practice efficient movement, turning and stopping.
- Held Daily, 10:30 a.m.

After the lesson, the rental equipment is yours for the remainder of the day, for more fun on the trails. You may also switch out skis for snowshoeing and try another sport.
Private or Semi-Private Lesson (One Hour)
Available for all abilities, private lessons are the fastest way to learn the sport or perfect your technique with one-on-one coaching.

Family Lesson (One Hour)
Cross-country skiing is the perfect way for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors together. Designed for ages 6 and older, family lessons can introduce newcomers to the sport or help take everyone's skiing to the next level, all while learning together.

Guided Snowshoe Hikes
Snowshoe Eco Hike
Enjoy a 2-mile interpretive hike. Along the way you'll learn about local history, animals and life in the mountains.
Time: Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:30 a.m.
Tour lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Price: $68.00
Mountain-Top Snowshoe Trek
Experience a mountaintop trek at more than 11,000 ft. Expect spectacular views and a good workout. Hike includes foot passenger ticket for lift ride to & from the Summit.
Time: 4 people minimum. Monday - Friday. Please call to arrange a day and time.
Tour lasts approximately 4 hours, including gondola time traveling to and from the mountaintop.

We suggest all participants bring/wear sunscreen, goggles/sunglasses, hat, gloves/mittens, extra layers (avoiding cotton base layers) and a water bottle. Waterproof outer layers are recommended (pants & jacket)
