Dinner and Sleigh Ride

Go dashing through the snow on this scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride. You’ll enjoy outdoor fun in the crisp winter air as you travel through the beautiful Soda Creek Valley. Your guide will tell tales of yesteryear and a stop at an original Keystone homestead. Choose from our Dinner Sleigh Ride or Scenic Sleigh Ride options.

Dinner Sleigh Ride

Meet at the Keystone Adventure Center in Lakeside Village and take a 15 minute shuttle to the back ranch property to board our authentic horse drawn sleighs. Enjoy a 20 minute ride to a historic ranch homestead while your wrangler entertains you with the history of the area and introduces you to the horses. When you arrive at our cabins, you'll be greeted with hot chocolate, soup and biscuits. Then you will relish your choice of NY Strip, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Salmon, or Chef's choice vegetarian entree such as a Vegetable Strudel with red pepper sauce. All options include garlic mashed potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables. Finish with Dutch Apple pie and homemade ice cream. Enjoy live music while you dine. A full cash bar is available.

Dates and Times:
Every day except Wednesdays.
4:30 PM and 7:30 PM
Check in is 30 minutes prior to reservation and total time including check in is approximately 3 hours.

Dress:
Dressing in layers is recommended. It can be chilly outside and warm and toasty in the cabins and on the buses. Blankets are provided on the sleighs/wagons.

Price includes everything except alcoholic beverages which can be purchased for an additional price. Price also excludes tip.

Free parking is available at the Lodge Parking Lot across from Lakeside Village.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged full price. Please call 24 hours in advance to cancel. A minimum of 16 people per time slot must be registered for the ride to go out or it will be cancelled and in that case no cancellation fee would be charged. If snow conditions are not suitable for a sleigh ride it will not be cancelled and the ride will be in a hay free wagon.

Private Dinner Sleigh Ride Option
Create memories that will last a life time as you cuddle up next to your loved ones on a private horsedrawn sleigh ride as you travel to our historic ranch homestead for dinner. At the homestead you’ll enjoy dinner and entertainment from a private table for your small group. This experience is perfect for romantic outings, anniversaries, wedding proposals, or a magical treat your family or small group.

What to expect on your Dinner Sleigh Ride

For a truly remarkable night of dining, Keystone Resort offers a true western experience with its dinner sleigh ride. The trip departs from the Adventure Center in Lakeside Village as you’re transported through the Keystone Ranch property out to the back ranch area in the Soda Creek Valley.
 
You’ll arrive to the warm welcome of our team of professional wranglers from the Keystone Stables. Our wranglers will board you on to your sleigh pulled by teams of Belgian and Percheron draft horses and the warmth of wool blankets. As you begin your ride through the quiet expanse of the Soda Creek Valley, our charismatic and charming wranglers will introduce you to the teams or horses, share the local history of the mining days, cowboy-themed jokes, and on clear star-filled nights, point out constellations patterns.
 
After a 20-30 minute sleigh ride, you’ll arrive at of historic homestead era log cabins built in the early 1800’s, nestled in the snow covered caps of the surrounding mountains. A roaring fire and the rustic charm of the past await your arrival, along with fresh made beef barley stew, homemade biscuits, and rich hot chocolate. A guitar-playing cowboy will provide entertainment for the evening, taking requests of your favorite folk songs, and offering a toast with a complimentary drink of peppermint schnapps.
 
For dinner, you’ll be served your choice of amazing options including steak, grilled chicken, salmon, or a vegetable strudel with red pepper sauce, along with garlic whipped mashed potatoes, and fresh steamed vegetables. A full-service bar is available for those ordering wine and other beverages. Make sure to save room for dessert as you’ll finish the evening with Dutch apple pie, and fresh made vanilla ice cream. Once you’ve finished dinner, you’ll be escorted back to your sleigh and begin the journey back towards civilization. The dinner sleigh ride at Keystone Resort is one of a kind, and offers you a chance to truly step back into the past. Scenic Sleigh Ride

Relax and enjoy a 60 minute scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride through Soda Creek Valley to Keystone's original homestead. Wranglers will give an historic account of Keystone's original settlement and progression to a ski resort. Learn about the horses pulling the wagons and even stop for hot apple cider at the original Keystone homestead.

Directions

From Dillion to Keystone:
  • Take HWY 6 East to Keystone
  • After the traffic light, turn left on Tennis Club Road (there is also a sign for the Keystone Conference Center).
  • Take your first left into the Keystone Lodge Parking.
  • From your car, walk to the center of the parking lot to a brown building.
  • This is the entrance to the tunnel that will allow you to cross HWY 6 safely.
  • Once you are on the other side of the HWY, exit the building to the left.
  • Follow the outdoor staircase leading down to Lakeside Village.
  • The Adventure Center is a maroon colored building straight ahead from the bottom of thestaircase.

 
From Breckenridge to Keystone:
  • Take HWY 9 North (Breckenridge Main Street) North towards Frisco.
  • About 5 miles out of Breckenridge, turn right at the light at Swan Mountain Rd.
  • Follow Swan Mountain Rd about 5-6 miles until it dead ends onto HWY 6.
  • Turn Right on HWY 6 at the light. Follow HWY 6 to Keystone Resort.
  • See directions above on how to get to the Adventure Center Keystone.

 
Breckenridge is about 15 miles from Keystone. It takes about 25-35 minutes to drive to Keystone with no weather or traffic issues; so please plan to arrive earlier than required.
