7 Reasons Why Keystone is the Best Family Ski Resort in the USA
North America has hundreds of ski resorts across its numerous mountain ranges, so how do you decide where to go?
If you’re traveling with your family, the answer is simple: Keystone Resort in Colorado.
At Keystone, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond for every family that visits our town. Whether you’re here for a day trip or travel from halfway around the globe to experience world-class groomers and untracked powder, you’ll have the time of your life at Keystone.
Here are some of the reasons that Keystone is consistently named the best family ski resort in the USA:
Who doesn’t want a daily festival designed with little ones in mind? Kidtopia offers something new every day, just for kids
Our giant snow fort is open for hours of exploration and fun. There are a number of arts and crafts activities available, plus cookies and cocoa. Action-packed kids camps and childcare means parents can enjoy some unfettered free time.
At Keystone, it’s good to be a kid!
Dinner Sleigh Rides
For a truly unique experience, take the family out to dinner using a horse-drawn sleigh. Gather the kids in a sleigh brimming with warm blankets and get a guided tour of Keystone Ranch while you make your way to a rustic dinner fit for any alpine-lover.
Race across the mountain terrain on a sled as you guide your pack of dogs. This tour is different from many others because the tour guides let you actively steer the pack. It’s one of those experiences that your family will be talking about long after you return home.
Older kids in Ski & Ride School can use the EpicMix app to track their progress from day to day. The instructors will check off the skills they’ve mastered, and at the end of the day, they can show parents how much they’ve learned.
The perfect activity for expert skiers, our Snowcats will take you beyond the lifts to our unbelievable bowls. You’ll do laps on deep, untracked powder, or through trees, all under the guidance of our trained KAT guides. A hot lunch is provided.
Not sure you can handle this terrain? Try a Snowcat Tour first to scope it out and or hone your powder skills in our Ski & Ride School.
Bigfoot Night Adventure Walk
These evening nature hikes for children are designed to point out the scenery and teach them more about the environment on the mountain, but with a twist!
Kids will need to keep an eye out for Bigfoot while they’re on their hike. The duration is about one and a half hours, just enough time for the adults to enjoy a quiet après ski cocktail.
A51 Terrain Park
A trip to Keystone is more than just riding fresh powder or carving corduroy. For some, it’s about jibbing rails and charging jumps in the terrain park. A51 gives thrill-seekers just what they want: more than 60 acres and 100 different features.
It’s no wonder that A51 was voted one of America’s top terrain parks by skiers and boarders around the world.
