Keystone Ski Resort will open October 31, 2014 for the winter season. 2014/15 season passes are now on sale! Purchase Now for the Guaranteed Lowest Price.
Call 970-496-4386 to book your tour.
Join us for a one of the largest Cat skiing operations in North America to experience the adventure of Independence, Erickson and/or Bergman bowls — our newest expert only terrain. We promise it will be an epic day you will never forget. Tours will be guided by our experienced Keystone Adventure Tour guides who will make sure your cat adventure is, a memorable one.
Each tour comes complete with a gourmet catered soup and sandwich lunch at the Independence Bowl Hut – which you're certain to need after making laps in this powder. Skiers will receive a free rental of demo Powder Skis but MUST provide their own boots and poles. Snowboarders welcome! There are no demo snowboards included.
Please note that, while highly trained, our KAT guides are not ski instructors; these tours are for expert skiers and riders who are accustomed to and adept in powder and trees. If you'd like to learn the art of powder skiing – or hone your skills before striking out in this territory – we recommend a lesson with our Ski & Ride School, which has instructors for every level (not just beginners).
If you're in doubt of your abilities, feel free to take a Mountain-Top Snowcat Tour first to scope out the terrain, and talk with our staff about your skill level and comfort in deep powder.
Opening Date: First week in January (weather and snow dependent)
Closing Date: First week in April (weather and snow dependent)
Reservations are required. Walk-ins will only be accepted if seats are available on the cat. Call 970-496-4386 to make a Guided Tour reservation.
Check-in time is 7:45am am at the Keystone Sports tune center and Basket Check in Buffalo Lodge in River Run Village. Guests will fill out waivers, get fitted with skis if desired and meet their cat guide. We kindly ask everyone to please arrive at the meeting location on time, as arriving late cuts into the time we spend skiing.
Hours of Operation: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Powder skis will be provided to you; equipment rental is included in the tour cost. Poles and boots are not provided. Skis can only be used for the tour. The ski rental is only while you are on the tour.
A Soup and Sandwich bar with 3 meats, 3 cheeses, vegetables, soup and salad, and mini gourmet cakes for dessert. Coffee, spiced cider, and hot chocolate is also provided.
End of the day
The tour will drop off cat skiers and riders at 2pm at the top of Dercum where guests can ski down to the bottom of the mountain. Powder Ski rentals will need to be returned to Keystone Sports.
