Keystone Ranch

Challenge yourself and take your game to a higher level on this classic mountain golf course. Winding through lodgepole pines, around sage meadows and across a nine-acre lake, this par-72 golf course features slight elevation changes and many bunkers. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Keystone Ranch Golf Course follows the legendary links-style of a Scottish course on the front nine, while the back nine presents a traditional mountain valley layout. Total yardage is 5,582 - 7,090.

The Keystone Ranch clubhouse features lockers rooms, a full-service lunch and bar menu, and a fully-stocked golf shop offering signature golf apparel, golf clubs, and accessories from top manufacturers.

Practice facility access and practice balls are included in the golf fees for all guests. Our practice facility includes a putting green, practice bunker, and driving range.

The River Course

This par-71, Hurdzan-Fry course brings an element of drama to your game. The par-35 front nine is oriented around the path of the Snake River and the par-36 back nine winds through a lodgepole pine forest. Impressive elevation changes, variable bunkers, water hazards, and five sets of tees on each hole combine to challenge golfers of all abilities. The 16th hole features a 194-foot elevation drop from tee to green and the scenic 18th hole offers 12 bunkers and spectacular views of Lake Dillon. Add to that the magnificent views of snow-capped peaks and wildlife and it’s easy to see this is a golfing experience unlike any other. Total yardage is 4,762 - 6,886.

The River Course clubhouse features the Golf Shop and The Grill.  Our golf shop is fully-stocked with signature golf apparel, golf clubs, and accessories from top manufacturers.  The River Course Grill is open daily during the golf season for breakfast, lunch, and apres golf - come by after your round for a happy hour drink at the bar or on our sunny patio.

Planning Tips

Visiting Keystone should be an experience you will always remember. We've put together a list of advice to help make your trip unforgettable.

1. Packing
Pack for a variety of weather and activities. Gloves and hats are always appreciated (even for cool summer nights). Water/wind protection is essential. But don’t stress too much, vacation should be fun. If you forget something, Keystone and the surrounding area offer several opportunities for you to find that perfect essential or souvenir. And you need not bring all your own equipment for activities, we have the very best rental equipment ready for your arrival.

For Golf:
- Proper golf attire is required (golf shorts, slacks or skirt, collared shirt or golf blouse)
- Soft spike golf shoes only (no metal spikes allowed)

2. Summertime Weather
A typical summer day in Keystone consists of sunny skies in the morning, followed by scattered afternoon thundershowers. Weather patterns change quickly, so be prepared. Plan activities for the morning and always carry a light waterproof jacket.

3. Casual Atmosphere
Keystone prides itself in being a fun, unpretentious, family-friendly mountain resort. No need to bring your high-heels or dress clothes. Jeans and a light jacket are the norm around here.

High Altitude Safety Information
The Keystone golf courses are situated in a beautiful mountain valley above 9,000 feet in elevation. Your golf ball may fly farther than at lower elevations, as there is less air resistance. However, you too are influenced by the thin air. At over 9,000 feet in elevation, 20-30% of visitors will have mild symptoms of altitude illness. The first symptom most people notice is a shortness of breath, especially when exercising. In addition, the heart is likely to beat faster and one may experience nausea, fatigue, headache, loss of appetite or difficulty sleeping. If you develop one or more of these symptoms you may have Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). If these symptoms do not subside within a day or two, consult a doctor.

    • Take it easy on your first day in the mountains - this helps the body adjust
    • Reduce consumption of alcohol, caffeine and salty foods as these contribute to dehydration
    • Drink three or four times more water than usual

Sun
Above 9,000 feet, the sun is 40% stronger than at sea level. Apply sunscreen several times a day and always wear eye protection. Sunglasses with UV protection are a must. Lip balm with SPF protection is also a necessity.

Getting Here

Keystone's golf courses are situated at an elevation of 9,300 feet above sea level in the White River National Forest about 90 miles west of Denver International Airport.

From the Denver Airport:

    • Take Interstate 70 West through the Eisenhower Tunnel to Exit 205 (Dillon/Silverthorne)
    • Continue approximately 6 miles east on U.S. Highway 6 to Keystone Resort
    • The River Course at Keystone is located off of Highway 6 just east of Swan Mountain Road. 
      155 River Course Drive.
    • Keystone Ranch Golf Course is located off Keystone Ranch Road. 
      Turn right at the Keystone stop light and follow the signs to the course.  
      1239 Keystone Ranch Road. 
    • Driving time is about 1.5 hours from the airport
