Specialty Education Wine Seminar: “Pinot Envy” with William Snowden

Experience the multiple personalities of Pinot Noir with an interactive discussion to explore the influences of vintage, place and a wine maker’s philosophy on Pinot Noir.  Taste how these factors and more impact this highly expressive grape.

Presenter: William Snowden
William Snowden has been in the wine business for over 25 years, and has been a passionate consumer for a considerable time longer. William got his start in the restaurant industry working in Vail before settling Boulder. After successfully helping to open award winning restaurants and starting his own company, William shifted focus solely to the wine industry. Over the last 25 years William has gained a great amount of experience in the industry and currently serves in the role of wine specialist for RNDC. Three years ago an exciting opportunity to join the production side of the industry led to the founding of True Story Wine. Based in The Willamette Valley in Oregon, True Story Wines currently produces Pinot Noir and Rosé of Pinot Noir. After 25 years of traveling the word, meeting wine greats, and tasting great wine, there are many stories to tell.

Specialty Education Wine Seminar: “The Red Wine Olympics” with Scott Thomas
In classic Olympic fashion, countries sending their best to compete, we’ll do the same with red varieties from the top eight wine producing countries in the world. Will it be Cabernet Sauvignon verses Pinot Noir? Argentina verses the United States? You, the public, will decide in a head-to-head bracket format, while tasting blind. No information, except your palate, will determine the winner once your votes are counted. A panel will provide in-depth discussions of these regions along the way.

Presenter: Scott Thomas
After working in fine dining for many years, Scott Thomas passed his first wine certification in 2005. The Certified Specialist of Wine was the catapult which led to a sommelier position for 6 years at Del Frisco's. For the past five years he's been a specialist and district manager for Republic National Distributing Company. Within that time he has earned several more certifications, including Certified Sommelier though the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Advanced certificate through the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust. Scott loves to share his passion and knowledge of wine with others.
